DAY 1

-

The pace was set at Ngee Ann City, with the return of Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung. His Autumn/ Winter ’14 collection whispered tales of rich cultures found in the Himalayas. Models accessorised with thick scarves and pashminas wrapped around their necks as well as bells on their ankles tinkled down the runway inspired by the kingdom of Mustang, Nepal.

Flirty skirts ruled the collection, paired with chunky knits and cosy sweaters. The ethnic tapestry-printed fabrics and textured draping were also a fantastic contrast to the sporty looks that opened the show. His signature gowns made their way in a sea of vibrant reds reminiscent of paint strokes by Cecily Brown, an artist whose attention-grabbing works have always captivated the designer.
