WELCOME TO THE ISSUE

-

Clutch, Anya Hindmarch November shimmers with the excitement of holiday festivities on the horizon – but first things first: this is where your Autumn/Winter runway buys get serious. As temperatures drop, fur and shearling come out to play.

To start you off, ‘ Neutral Territory’ (page 216) explores winterwear in – surprise! – desert shades. Think army green, golden sands, and of course, camel. But for a Malaysian woman to wrap herself in such warm fare would require a bit of stylish travel, and for inspiration we turn to Louis Vuitton. In ‘ Monogram Moment’ (page 224), six iconoclasts envision the house’s famed logo. From Karl Lagerfeld’s Punching Trunk to Frank Gehry’s Twisted Box bag, these global powerhouses prove themselves, to quote LV’s executive vice president Delphine Arnault, “a group of geniuses”.

Intelligence may be non-negotiable but a first impression is what starts things off, no matter what your age. Therein lies the foundation of our Beauty Issue, drawing from the diaries of industry insiders (page 124) and exploring the many ways to look fabulous with every decade (Turn to page 122 to find out how).

This month also sees the return of BAZAAR’s annual Beauty Awards with the Hot 150 that impressed an expert panel of judges – TV darling Nadia Heng, young entrepreneur Kim Raymond, screen siren Deanna Yusoff, BAZAAR Man and bar owner, David Yee, as well as editor-in-chief Natasha Kraal. Here’s to rainbow-palette wishes and caviar creams!
