TTell us more about the campaign. The story behind the advertising campaign is very cool. Its images are striking and strong; whether you love them or not, you notice the images. That is the most important thing about a visual image. All the people in the campaign are not models but regular people. It defines the very spirit of Marc by Marc Jacobs as a brand. They were selected via social media and were shot by fashion photographer David Sims; he is an amazing photographer and Luella’s partner. The entire concept was the brainchild of Katie Grand. So there we were, all great friends working together putting positive energy into this extraordinary project. Your favourite pieces from the collection? Oh, they change. I love the biker jacket! We designed the entire collection simple but elevated via textile. Both of us wanted to focus on the heritage of the brand by reintroducing fabrics from previous collections, some of which have never been used after the very first Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. Can you share with us your design process? We looked through art books, and watched music videos on YouTube to create the character for the season. Then we presented it to Marc Jacobs to get his feedback. It’s a fun, organic, and natural process. How do you intend to take the brand to the next level? It is going to be a team effort.
