To say that Azura Rahman is a denim aficionado is no understatement. For this denim-themed shoot, she had set aside her favourite pieces. “My husband tells me I have too many clothes,” she laughs. “I do need to spring-clean my wardrobe but there are just too many pieces I hang on to for sentimental reasons.” Having made her selection, Azura then spies more pieces she’d put aside earlier – an assortment of denim looks from Stella McCartney, Acne Studios, and Mother. “I’m super excited that denim is such a huge trend for Spring/ Summer ’15,” she says. “I love how designers have become more experimental with denim and how it doesn’t always necessarily translate to just jeans. The great thing about denim is that the high street also does it so well; you can afford to experiment with different styles or even DIY rips.”

One of BAZAAR’s Most Stylish Women, Azura also counts Marques’Almeida and Rachel Comey among her new favourite designers for denim. “I love the ripped and raw looks that Marques’Almeida has been producing, turning fraying into a design feature. I genuinely like to see new fresh ideas on the runway and how it translates to the streets. It’s the newness that keeps me excited and perhaps why I’m not a classic dresser ... there are too many new things to be excited about!” says Azura, who describes her style as slightly quirky, slightly masculine, with lots of colour, especially blue.

Having been at BFM89.9 for the past five years, Azura produces and presents three shows on the station, one of which further informs her take on fashion. “Style File
