Put on your captain hats and cruise the Straits of Malacca; the Costa Victoria returns to the shores of Singapore. A magnificent vessel decked in decadent Italian flare, in 1996 the Costa Victoria was jazzed up with glass mosaic designed by artist Emilio Tadinidi and produced by Studio Gregotti Associati, as well as famed cruise ship architect, Robert Tillberg.

This May, all on board are in for a thrilling masquerade party, masquemaking sessions, and dance lessons. During the day, choose from an exciting array of offshore excursions.

As you set sail from the dock at Singapore and steadily cruise north in deep blue waters, the excitement on the ship is palpable. While Mummy and Daddy sip welcome cocktails, kids can roam free at the Squok Club, filled with various activities to keep junior travellers occupied.

The next destination is Malacca, a state rich in history and delicious Peranakan cuisine. As the ship docks, tug boats are available for those who have signed up for an adventure offshore. There are six excursions

Choose from ‘Heritage Trail of Malacca’, ‘Culture and Historical Malacca’, ‘Walk the Dutch Trail’, ‘Malacca and Surroundings’, ‘King Fruit and Queen Bee’, and ‘A Shopping Spree’. These trips include stopovers at the famous Dutch Square, the forts, and a short hike up St. Pauls Hill.

After a full day of fun, exploring, and discovering the historical city, an evening of rest at the spa on aboard is the perfect way to wind down. Meanwhile, keep the kids occupied with either a language class, a dance session, a cooking lesson or any one of the many programmes lined up. As the ship pulls away from Malacca, catch the sunset upon the top deck. A vision of gold and red, dipping beneath the vast horizon, it is a moment that will forever be etched in your memory.

By the time you arise the next morning, the Costa Victoria would have docked in Penang. Hop off and join in on one of six offshore excursions: ‘Chocolate, Coffee, Tea & Shopping Mall Trip’, ‘Golden Sands Resort’, ‘Heritage Tour with Local Product Shopping’, ‘Typically Penang’, ‘Georgetown and Suburbs’, and ‘Round the Island’. Pit stops in Penang include a stopover at the Thai Buddhist Temple, a trip to a batik showroom and factory (where batik is hand-painted individually), and a charming butterfly aviary.

On the last night back to Singapore, why don’t you sit on the deckchairs of your private balcony and take in the serene calm of the magnificent sea? As darkness sets, all you can see is a thick blanket of blackness, while the soothing sound of lapping waves melts your troubles away. With something different for everyone, the Costa Victoria cruise by Costa Cruise truly stands out as an all-in-one family offshore vacation. www.costacruisesasia.com Dress, Baby Dior Shoes, Gap Kids
