THE MOTHER OF ALL
Evolving from blogger, to building her very own lifestyle empire, Jane Chuck is an entrepreneurial force to be reckoned with. Establishing her own work from home club during the pandemic by expanding her lifestyle line, Motherchuckers, she’s proving that comfort and quality are still honoured above all.
Taking a leap of faith, Jane introduced her first drop of at-home essentials at the crux of lockdown. “For Motherchuckers, I was heavily inspired by the pandemic and that's where we actually launched the ‘Work From Home Club’, which we now can consider as the new normal.” Countless sweat sets later, including a special collaboration with the WWF, Motherchuckers have grown a local cult following with fans continuously buying out collections as soon as they’re released.
Recalling the start of her Motherchuckers journey, Jane expresses that “there were a lot of mixed feelings on coming out with a line during the pandemic, but we battled through and were actually inspired by what had happened.”
Typical delays in production had sometimes put a damper on her momentum, but it was the support of her team that kept her going through her voyage on uncharted waters. “I would say Motherchuckers is a pure team effort. I have a great team of people and I give full credit to them. There’s a reason why we produce our clothes in such limited quantities and also how we price it. I value my team a lot, which is why I would like to use Motherchuckers as a platform for my team to really showcase their creativity. What people buy from Motherchuckers is not only a piece of fabric but also the hard work that goes on behind. The whole team is extremely grateful for the success of every launch, which is why we continue to push our boundaries.”
Big dreams postponed; Jane also reveals that a Chucks’ store was on the horizon. “I was actually planning on a Chuck’s physical store back in 2019 and it was planned to open at the end of 2021. It’s unfortunate that I’ll have to call it off for now and shift my focus more on planning things digitally.”
As for what we else can expect from Jane in the future? She’s left us guessing. “I would love to keep it as a surprise!” she says.
