Concerns surrounding sustainability within the fashion industry has never been more important. Now more than ever, calls to protect our environment are met with raving enthusiasm and major players in the industry have taken steps in the right direction to ensure a more sustainable future. Following in the steps of Prada’s Re-Nylon project, Miu Miu connects the world of fashion and sustainability through a project rich in nostalgia. Introducing Upcycled by Miu Miu, a capsule collection of reworked vintage dresses. Sourced from vintage clothing stores and markets from around the world, the collection consists of 80 exclusive and numbered pieces that have been specially selected and transformed by Miu Miu. The precious and anonymous finds are rare gems designed to be treasured forever, featuring pieces from the ‘30s to the ‘80s that are restored and refashioned with utmost care and attention (all pieces are painstakingly finished by hand).
In line with the Miu Miu DNA, signature Miu Miu embellishments and embroidery lend a sophisticated and feminine touch to the delectable pieces. Personal and imbued in memories, the reimagined garments bring forth a renewed vigour that will without a doubt, enrich the lives of the women who will wear them.
