The Tastes Of Spring
The food scene in Kuala Lumpur comes alive this season with new gourmet offerings just waiting to be savoured. By Alana Scott.
As the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia loosens its restrictions, the dining scene in Kuala Lumpur is bustling back with energy once again. Without a doubt, the biggest news this season is the opening of the city’s second Nobu Kuala Lumpur just last month. Taking pride of place within the lavish walls of Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, the new restaurant comes six years after the launch of South East Asia’s very first Nobu restaurant at Menara 3 Petronas.
Located at Level 4A of the hotel, one key feature of this new Nobu is The Sake Room that serves sake from a brewery in Hokusetsu, Japan that makes it exclusively for the Nobu Group, including Nobu’s signature Hokusetsu Nobu Daiginjo TK40 “The Premium Sake”. Drop by for a unique gastronomic experience for The Sake Room offers both an experiential as well as an educational journey that takes you through not only the different kinds of sake available, but also on the best food pairing for each sake.
Other new features of the restaurant include three private dining rooms of varying sizes with a total capacity of 60 guests, the ideal venue for small to medium scale gettogethers. On the other hand, the island kitchen is now placed alongside the Sushi Bar to allow for some entertaining view of Nobu’s talanted chefs at work. One sure thing to be really excited about: ever innovating the dining experience, Nobu will be reintroducing the tableside experience for special promotions where a certain dish will be prepared in front of guests by the chef himself.
To coincide with the launch, Nobu Kuala Lumpur will be debuting some tasty new dishes, among them the Pan Seared Scallops with Yuzu Truffle Sauce, New Zealand Lamb Chop with Rosemary Miso and one of their owner’s personal favourites, Fresh Water Prawn with Anticucho Hazelnut Sauce.
The new Nobu Kuala Lumpur is located at Level 4A, Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur. For reservations, call 03-2380 0028 or WhatsApp 019-389 5085, or email at nobuklreservations@noburestaurants.com
