TEA TIME WITH SHISEIDO

-

We are not done with Japanese cuisine just yet. In one of the most interesting and uncanny pairings yet from the culinary world, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur has partnered up with Japanese beauty brand Shiseido to celebrate the sakura season with the Shiseido-inspired Sakura Spring Afternoon Tea at Altitude.

This special afternoon tea menu marries a contemporary Japanese bento box with a tower of cherry blossom-inspired desserts, specially curated by Banyan Tree Kuala

Lumpur’s very own award-winning executive pastry chef Fodil Baghal and chef de cuisine Ricky Kamiishi of Ebisu at Altitude.

Savoury offerings include Salmon & Avocado Tartar, Baby Octopus Tempura, Fried Whild Yam with Miso Paste, Crab Mayonnaise Maki Roll and more. Sweet treats on the other hand include Altitude’s signature Classic and Matcha Scones with authentic clotted cream and house-made jam, flavourful Itchigo Tart and Verine, Shiseido Macaron and Madeleine, as well as a Charlotte cake.

This packaged menu is offered at a very reasonable RM148 nett per person, inclusive of a Shiseido White Lucent sampling kit worth RM65 and a Shiseido voucher worth RM50. The Sakura Spring Afternoon Tea is paired with a selection of gourmet coffee by illy Caffè and fine teas from Harney & Sons. Or simply add on RM40 per person for a glass of Cherry Blossom Sake. Small eaters, be warned: do come on an empty stomach because the bento box alone is rather filling. You wouldn’t want to waste these tasty morsels.

The Sakura Spring Afternoon Tea menu runs until 30 April 2021. For reservations, please call Altitude, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur at 03-2113 1823 or email altitude-kl@banyantree.com
