Editor’s Note
Welcome to the 2015 edition of Malaysia Tatler Best Restaurants Guide.
We have updated the book to include sizzling newcomers to the country’s restaurant scene, including Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s celebrated Nobu, which has finally made it to Malaysian shores. Other new local entrants include Marble 8, the inner sanctum for meat lovers that comes complete with its own meat-aging facility; and Charcoal, which as its name suggests, serves delicious grill favourites from Tomahawks to ayam percik.
Of course, we have not forgotten our first loves—cilantro, Lafite, Mandarin Grill, Bijan, Shang Palace, Erawan et al. They are the ones that have stood the test of time and that of the notoriously fickle market to continue serving some of the best food in the country.
This year, we have also given the book a new look and a bold succinct format. Our recommendations on the country’s top restaurants now come in bite-size snippets for easy browsing and a quick way to get in the know. Enjoy and bon appétit!
