Why Go

Its central location, charming rustic setting and above all, quality Japanese cuisine keep loyal diners coming back for over two decades.

Tatler tips

Genji’s a la carte menu is incredibly extensive so take your time to pour over the choices. Regulars come for its teppanyaki dishes, which run the gamut from premium Wagyu to black cod.

• If you want more bang for your buck, the Genji signature bento is a must-order. It comes with plenty—sushi, sashimi, tempura, grilled vegetables, teriyaki unagi and teppanyaki.

• For lighter, health-conscious eats with bite, try the grilled salmon fillet and flavourful grilled assorted vegetables.

• For a sweet ending, the Genji dessert combo of hot red bean soup with glutinous rice balls and black sesame ice cream is immensely gratifying.
