What is your all-time favourite dish?

I am a purist in the sense that I just love sinking my teeth into a good piece of steak, so it would definitely be a Japanese Kobe zabuton cut, thrown on the grill and served with some good quality sea salt.

What is your favourite restaurant?

Asador Extebarri in Bilbao, Spain, where a smokehouse churns out the most heavenly goat’s milk butter. Its grilled gambas meanwhile, are juicy and explode in your mouth, giving you oral pleasure that you never thought you’d yearn for.

Not too long ago, I randomly jumped on a plane to Tokyo to satisfy my ramen cravings. For the following 36 sleepless hours, I had shoyu ramen in Shinjuku, miso ramen in Shibuya and chicken ramen in Ginza, before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.

favfavourite roti canai in Desa Pandan and chchicken liver curry at my favourite mamak in Ukay Perdana. I also often visit my friends’ restaurants Mezze and French Feast. I love food, so I only patronise restaurants on multiple occasions if the food is great.

There are so many wonderful experiences but if I had to choose one, it would be at a friend’s Italian restaurant in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Al fresco dining underneath the beautiful full moon with gorgeous truffle pappardelle, excellent service, Chianti and the perfect company – my wife.
