Alarge atrium closes down into the warm and cosy, albeit vast setting of Essence, where tables and booths litter the two seating levels, providing plenty of space for the crowds that throng its afternoon lunch buffet.

While the à la carte menu offers everything from an international breakfast to European and Asian mains, Essence finds its essence during the lunch buffet where the spread is a culinary trip around the world.

The salad, Asian, Western, seafood, noodles and dessert stations are cleverly spread out and provide plenty to try. At the cold station, salad lovers will delight in the assortment of fresh greens, dressings and cheese, but the seafood station is where the crowds swarm for fresh seafood, and delicious sushi and sashimi.

For a more Malaysian fare, the Asian station serves up everything from curries to satay with a serving of vegetable biryani or naan.

The Western station will satisfy your cravings for all manner of roasted and grilled meat with grilled skirt steak, roasted chicken, pan- grilled fish and a whole rack of lamb on offer. The European leg is completed with a serving of pasta.

The noodle and dim sum station recreates the feel of an old market in a modern and sleek setting. Diners assemble their own bowls from a variety of soups, noodles, vegetables, seafood and meat, while picking up a few dim sums along the way. The participation certainly makes for a fun experience.
