Hubba Hubba Sentral
Hubba Hubba’s main dining area is spacious with plenty of options for large and small tables and the interior is decorated with metal shelves housing bright vases and low-hanging bulbs over the tables and the indoor bar, giving it a contemporary feel. The distinguishing feature is the terrace, which offers an amazing view of Kuala Lumpur and the National Museum.
The menu is a good mix of local, Western and fusion cuisine. There are also vegetarian options for pizzas and pastas; diners can create their own salad. The Jerk Out Chicken comes highly recommended and for good reason. It is well-marinated and flavourful, the caramelised chicken thigh is tender and drizzled with a smoky sweet sauce, served atop mashed potatoes. The sirloin steak is juicy, well- seasoned and cooked perfectly to medium well, served with a side of thickly cut fries and grilled asparagus.
For dessert, the salted caramel apple guava tart is a good choice; the crust is a bit thick but the apple and guava filling topped with salted caramel is a pleasure to bite into. The tart is served with a scoop of Haagen-dazs vanilla ice-cream, which is rich and delicious.
The drinks menu has good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The Saint Clair Pinot Noir is smooth with a fruity, earthy flavour and goes well with the chicken. The asam boi mojito is an absolute delight and a treat for diners with a sweet tooth – the tangy zing of the asam boi cuts through the mint and the result is a pleasantly refreshing drink.
