WIP has a prime position just off the main ground floor entrance of the popular Bangsar Shopping Centre. It has been here for some time and obviously provides an agreeable venue that the Bangsar residents love.

While contemplat­ing the extensive menu, it’s advisable to order bar snacks such as bruschetta­s, chicken wings and satay. For mains, a good option includes the fattoush and hummus with pita bread, which is generous, tasty and healthy. A portion of avocado and mango salad has similar qualities.

The grilled T-bone steak is a generous 400gm and served on a wooden board with a foil- clad baked potato with sour cream while the creamy horseradis­h sauce is a creative addition. For something fiery, order the chicken vindaloo to appreciate its tender marinated chicken breast and spicy gravy, which goes well with either buttered naan or biryani rice.

Interestin­g desserts such as the peanut butter panna cotta and salted caramel apple and guava tart are worth a try. The tropical pavlova is a fair rendition of meringue with rich cream and excellent fruit such as passionfru­it and mango on top.

WIP’S wine list is comprehens­ive including several champagnes, sparkling wines, sparkling rosés as well as table wines. These wines originate from the main wine producing regions and there are 11 wines by the glass including a dessert wine from Houghton in Western Australia’s Swan Valley.
