Intercontinenal Kuala Lumpur’s all-day-dining outlet takes on an alternate appearance from 6pm to 10.30pm every night with the Fresh Market Buffet. Breaking ranks from the standard buffet fair, the main buffet counter is turned into a marketplace of sorts, where raw vegetables, seafood and meat are laid out for diners to choose and have cooked on the spot. The aesthetic is beautiful, making full use of the natural colours of food to entice diners.

On Fridays, the restaurant serves up their ‘catch of the day,’ allocating a large part of the Fresh Market to a veritable array of seafood. The usual suspects — salmon, oysters, mussels and squid — are present, but they up the ante with a selection of tiger prawns, scallops, air-flown seabass, Canadian King Crab and slipper lobster.
