he year was 1966. The young Ital­ian de­sign en­tre­pre­neur Piero Am­bro­gio Bus­nelli es­tab­lished C&B Italia (which would later be­come B&B Italia) to­gether with co­founder Ce­sare Cassina. From the get-go, Bus­nelli was de­ter­mined to spread world­wide the cul­ture of de­sign and liv­ing by in­tro­duc­ing qual­ity in­dus­trial de­sign in an al­ready so­phis­ti­cated fur­nish­ing mar­ket. Armed with tenac­ity and an un­wa­ver­ing spirit, Bus­nelli led the com­pany to in­ter­na­tional suc­cess by bring­ing a high de­gree of tech­no­log­i­cal and de­sign in­no­va­tion to its prod­ucts. These achieve­ments were made pos­si­ble through the seam­less part­ner­ships with renowned de­sign­ers in­clud­ing Mario Bellini, Gae­tano Pesce, and Lu­dovico Mag­istretti. The com­pany’s con­ver­sion into B&B Italia in 1973 also marked a turn­ing point in Bus­nelli’s ca­reer.
