Natasha Lau wasn’t your average child. Rather than watch cartoons or play games with her friends, she spent her girlhood flicking through fashion magazines, trying on dresses and accompanying her mother to the world’s glossiest catwalk shows. And the intense love of clothing she developed has now paid off in the form of a dazzling career in the fashion industry. The Instagram star has collaborated on a number of collections and walked for some of the biggest brands of China and Europe.

Natasha splits her time between Shanghai, where she works as a model and stylist, and New York, where she is studying at art school Parsons. “I prefer Shanghai somehow. I’m more European in my style. I like quite a simple and chilled life.”

Along with all the designers who helped launch her career, she credits one person in particular for her prodigious success. “My mum is my life. She’s always perfect and I’m still not exactly sure what I want to do with my life. I would like to be an actress, but I don’t want to rush into it and my mum always knows what to say—telling me to take each day as it comes and go step by step until I find my path.”
