Finding your better half and deciding to spend the rest of your life with him or her is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have in your lifetime. The akad nikah and marriage ceremonies of Dias Atamkulov and Alia Geneid are life events which the blissful couple and their families will never forget.

The solemnisation ceremony at the bride’s home, followed by a reception at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, was a momentous occasion for both the families, as the father of the bride, Dato’ Robert Geneid, emotionally but happily gave away his daughter’s hand in marriage thus unifying the two families. The ceremony was as joyous as it was beautiful with guests

of all calibre witnessing the lavish ballroom ornamentations, a lively silat performance along with traditional prayer recitals followed by the Sarawakian Malay tradition of makan nasi temuan by the bride and groom. The ceremony was topped off with entertainment provided by the Nusantura Dance Troupe.

Following the series of celebrations in Kuala Lumpur, Dias Atamkulov and Alia Geneid were formally wedded in a magnificent ceremony in Kazakhstan in line with the bridegroom’s Kazakh traditions and customs. The 150 Malaysian guests who flew in to attend the ceremony were fortunate enough to have gracious hosts who meticulously planned dinners, sightseeing opportunities and cultural performances

for them. On the big day, which took place at the Rixos Almaty Hotel in Almaty, everyone turned up looking splendid in their finest, transforming an already grand event into something fit for royalty. The father of the bridegroom, Beibut Atamkulov, graciously welcomed his guests with open arms and a warm smile, as he could barely contain his happiness that evening. The focus of the night, both Alia and Dias, stole glances from all directions as the dapper bridegroom gallantly led his beautiful wife, adorned in the traditional Kazakh headgear

and veil into the ballroom. The bridegroom’s mother, Bagila Saparbayeva followed by the bride’s parents, Dato’ Robert Geneid and Datuk Raziah Mahmud-Geneid, took turns delivering speeches to bless and welcome the happy couple into their respective families. Felicity filled the air throughout the night as the perfect celebration of love could not have been more of a success.
