The love story be­tween Ade­line Chua and Barry Ed­monds turned a new chap­ter when they tied the knot af­ter a seven-year courtship

or seven years, Barry Ed­monds and Ade­line Chua have gone through the ups and downs of life with each other. Their paths crossed each other’s reg­u­larly through­out the early stages of their lives, mainly be­cause they are fam­ily friends. Love did not come at first sight for th­ese two love­birds; they hit it off as pla­tonic friends at first. None­the­less their friend­ship bloomed into love over the years. What sealed the deal for their ro­mance was their shared ap­pre­ci­a­tion for laugh­ter and mak­ing jokes. To il­lus­trate, Ade­line tells us how Barry once ex­pressed his ap­pre­ci­a­tion for her al­mond-shaped eyes. “He teas­ingly men­tioned he was at­tracted to my ‘in­sect’ eyes and that I looked like a cute bug. I knew he meant it in a good way, so I can laugh about it,” says Ade­line, who em­anates warmth and a jolly sense of hu­mour her­self.

“Over our seven-year re­la­tion­ship, we have learnt to be ut­terly and com­pletely hon­est with one an­other and to al­ways be funny for each other. More im­por­tantly, we never for­get to be each other’s friend,” she adds. So it came as no sur­prise when Barry fi­nally popped the ques­tion to Ade­line while the cou­ple were on a spon­ta­neous run in the Bay Area of San Fran­cisco. “It could have been any­where else in the world and I would have said yes,” says
