Deborah Henry and Rajiv Bhanot were made for each other and held their nuptials with extravagant flair

Deborajiv first happened many years ago, in 2001 when Deborah was 16, and Rajiv was 18. It was a fleeting moment, a quick crossing of paths when they were both college students in KL. Had you asked them about each other back then, both would have said that they could vaguely remember it. They both went on with their lives, venturing across the globe and making differences in their own capacities for about 13 years before they met again in 2014.

Common friends introduced, or rather, reintroduced the pair and they both instantaneously clicked, bonding over conversations about life, work and travel. “It’s rather funny that we didn’t meet sooner, considering the number of common friends we have,” said Deborah. “Our chance meeting took place as four of us sat down for dinner on a September night in 2014, and the rest as they say is history.” Two years flew by and the question was finally asked. “I honestly thought I would know when Rajiv was going to propose, but he did well,” confessed Deborah,
