Ah, weddings. Part of the excitement—or rather, most of it—comes from planning and executing the entire affair. If you’re planning to get married soon, you may already have a set vision of how you want your wedding to look like (this is where Pinterest comes in handy). Then, unless you are an events planner by trade, chances of you accomplishing all that by yourself is next to impossible. Where do you even start? What kind of colours do you go for? What theme would be most suitable? We asked the people behind Spring Cottage for their opinion, and they generously shared with us a couple of their clients’ colour-themed excerpts, from their portfolio, to inspire you to get creative and most importantly, get hitched in style.

PINK

Pink has always been associated with the colour of romance, with a tinge of playfulness, and it was the choice colour for one of the couples who wed recently. What resulted was an adorable outdoor wedding setting that played with various hues of pink and hints of white. The off-white drapes added a profound impact on the overall wedding ambience. It was simple, light and airy. The couple, Joanne and Lionel, said, “Our wedding was a true fairy tale. It could not have been more beautiful. Perfect in every way; wonderful, breathtaking and seamless.”

CHAMPAGNE

Christina and Marcus were part of an elegant wedding that featured champagne elements accented by various shades of pink. Little details like the golden glass baubles that were hung around and lighted gold candles made a marked difference—creating a soft yet otherworldly, surreal and romantic ambience without being too ‘loud’ or disruptive to the eyes. Being a neutral and tastefully understated colour, it is the go-to colour for brides because of its timeless, elegant and luxurious feel. Plus, it can be paired with almost any other colour, from the loudest to the softest.

PURPLE

Marcus and Marie chose purple as the colour theme for their wedding reception. Purple is an elegant and romantic colour, which is why it has always been a popular choice. The purple background was offset by detailed, charming and magical accompaniments that complemented it. The effect looked simple yet timeless, with a near-whimsical feel. “It was so much better than we could have ever envisioned. The decorations were absolutely beautiful and the ballroom looked spectacular,” said the couple. True enough, as purple is often associated with mystery, mysticism and magic, Marcus and Marie’s wedding was an enchanting affair.

WHITE

If you love nature, you can always bring the outdoors in through a white-themed wedding filled with elements of nature. Which was what Shen Jian and Joyce had in mind, “We opted for a rustic feel for the church wedding as it is elegant and relatively easy to pull off.” The outcome was simple yet stunning, plus it gave off a fresh feel. Shades of green were incorporated to match the white, which combined well with the decor tinged with rose gold tones, making the details look effortlessly graceful. After all, too much clutter may take the focus away from the couple, so best stick to the ‘less is more’ motto to leave a lasting impression.
