Denise Tan and Neil Nguyen bought a one-way ticket to each other’s hearts as their union was a very merry occasion in the company of family and friends who flew in from around the world

Despite being from different parts of the world, Denise Tan and Neil Nguyen were eventually based in Australia, albeit her being in Brisbane and him in Melbourne; and as fate would have it, the two were meant to meet. Each having been assigned to head to Washington DC, US for training, it was only then that Denise and Neil found each other and pursued a relationship. And after spending two years together, Neil knew she was the one, and their love culminated in a lavish dinner at the grand ballroom of Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur.

Many of the couple’s friends and family from the around the globe, some as far as the US, UK, Sweden, Australia, flew in to Malaysia, not only to show their love and support, but also to experience a Chinese wedding which was replete with traditional practices, for their first time. A day before the lavish dinner, guests got to witness the tea ceremony, that also included the gate crashing ceremony—which was endured by a group of Neil’s friends from Australia.

At the wedding reception, family and friends gathered together to rejoice in the lovely couple’s union. The celebrations began with a cocktail reception at the foyer

of the grand ballroom of Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, and then when the doors were swung open to allow guests to take their seats in the function hall, everyone was amazed by how beautifully the ballroom was decorated. Walking in to wonderful shades of red, accentuated with glass crystals and chandeliers, plus bedecked with gorgeous floral displays, guests took a while to get to their assigned spots, as they were busy snapping pictures and posing with the floral decor—one main highlight was the archway which used fresh blooms. Once everyone was settled, the event carried on in pomp and grandeur, with a delicious spread of food plus The 4th Dimension band entertaining guests. The merriment continued with an after-party; and it was definitely a night to remember for the dashing young couple.
