I feel that we need to stop taking social media so seriously. Through apps like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, special moments in our lives are immortalised and can be shared with loved ones who may not have been present. With some people, what you see is truly what you get. However, on the flip side, if private matters are often aired through these channels, it can result in ugly confrontations. It’s important to bear in mind that sometimes what we see on social media may not always be the truth and can be a one-sided version of events. That being said, social media has become a very integral part of our lives. Everyone wants to remain relevant and have information at their fingertips. We just need to take what we see with a pinch of salt. Not everyone portrays their true selves in cyberspace while some are an open book! As users we need to judge less and keep in mind that social media is for sharing moments and having fun!
