A CARNIVAL OF THE CREATIVE
Urbanscapes celebrates its 15th anniversary over three weekends in KL
One of the longest-running creative arts fests in Malaysia, Urbanscapes, returns for the 15th time, sticking to its aim of bringing together the communities from the fields of music, arts, design, film and other creative disciplines. Setting up shop once more at Urbanscapes House in the historic 2 Hang Kasturi building, this three-week-long, city-wide celebration will be packed with music, performances, art installations, markets, and experiential and interdisciplinary events. “After 15 years, I believe Urbanscapes has garnered quite a following in the region for being the festival to be at if you want total creative and cultural immersion. This year, we decided to hold Urbanscapes in Kuala Lumpur again as the ambience seems to hit the sweet spot for festival goers,” says Adrian Yap, founder and festival director of Urbanscapes. To kick off the celebrations, the creative collective Hoax Vision takes over Urbanscapes House on May 5 with an invite-only opening party, Hoax In The House, which features a long lineup of the city’s up-and-coming DJS.
