NOBLE LAUREATO
A year after its revival, the Girard-perregaux Laureato returns to the brand with a vengeance, including a new model for the modern woman
Since its launch, the Girard-perregaux Laureato collection has been perpetually renewed in terms of its relevance and significance over time. In 2017, the brand shows its commitment towards this understated product by revisiting the range to cater to the daintier wrist. Intended for women of taste, this elegant watch retains the shape of its octagonal bezel that frames a round dial adorned with a Clous de Paris hobnail motif. The watch is also attired in diamond-studded brilliance, befitting its feminine association. In terms of aesthetics, classy touches are evident in the use of materials closely attuned to the feminine tastes. The Laureato 34 is available in satin-brushed steel or 18k pink gold. If you like both at once, there’s also an option of having the watch in two-toned materials. Aside from bracelet links, there are models fitted with alligator straps of white, black or anthracite grey, secured by a dainty triple blade-folding clasp. In the 1970s, the Laureato was originally a quartz-based chronometer when it was released. History is repeated again for this latest iteration, which features a thin quartz movement produced in-house by GirardPerregaux. The Laureato 34 is a smaller and thinner alternative to the standard Laureato of days past, measuring at 34mm diameter and 7.7mm thick. All in all, it can be said that the strength of a celebratedted model lies in its ability to evolve. And over the years, the Laureato has proved capable—remaining firmly in tune with the times, and it has done so again with this exquisite creation.
