FOUND IN TRANSLATION: DESIGN IN CALIFORNIA AND MEXICO, 1915–1985
LACMA, LOS ANGELES SEPTEMBER 17 TO APRIL 1
Built around four themes—spanish colonial inspiration, pre-hispanic revivals, folk art and craft traditions, plus modernism—the show looks at the design and architectural legacies of Mexico and California in the 20th century. Some 250 items, including drawings, photos, prints, furniture, ceramics and murals, reveal influences and connections between the two places, pointing at both aesthetic and cultural affinities. lacma.org
