Throwback Friday

-

Six years after gracing our cover for the first time, Nadia Nasimuddin fronts our magazine again in style

Acall time of 7 am did not faze Nadia Nasimuddin at all; in fact, she showed up fresh faced and ready, on time for the shoot. She cheerfully informed us that she had blocked out the entire Friday for us, as our glam squad, Shaun Yap and Linda Scholer, worked on her first look of the day in Gucci. Despite the ferocity of the sun shining overhead as she posed at the rooftop of Lenswork Studio, our cover girl and winner of the Woman on the Rise award remained cool as a cucumber. The only time her composure cracked was when she accidentally dropped her breakfast—a plate of scrambled eggs—to which she laughed uproariously at her slip. Naturally, we got her a new plate of eggs, and all joked about it after that. Even though it has been six years since we last featured Nadia, her fun and vibrant personality remained intact. We also observed that she is more calm and laidback during the photo shoot—having been put under the spotlight ever since her first appearance with us. “Oh, life was much simpler for me then. Now I am one of those women with a long to-do list to check off for work, family and my personal life,” says the second-generation entrepreneur, when asked about how life has changed since she appeared on our cover with her cat Hamlin in December 2011. Turn to page 178 to read about how this petite dynamite manages to have it all in life with the right attitude and confidence.
