Ever Ever After
A dream is a wish your heart makes, as Cinderella famously sang. For Jim Tan and Enya Chen, their fairy tale wedding was a dream—and a wish—that came true
Once upon a time, an engineer by the name of Jim Tan met the gorgeous chartered accountant, Enya Chen, in the Land Down Under. Alas, they had to endure the challenges of the (evil) LDR, otherwise known as Long Distance Relationship—as Jim had to travel to the Land of the Rising Sun, while Enya traversed to the distant lands of Europe, both for work. Each however kept the faith that one day, they would be man and wife. At last their stars aligned, and both moved back to Malaysia to start a new chapter. Jim and Enya laboured to transform their dream of a fairy tale wedding into a reality. The festivities started with a gate-crashing ceremony, where Jim sought to ‘win’ his bride by overcoming (more) obstacles set by the bridesmaids with help from his groomsmen. This was followed by the tea ceremony, where the couple performed their filial duties by serving their elders tea, while dressed in traditional outfits. The finale took place at the grand ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Kl—as the couple fulfilled their fairy tale fantasy with a lavishly adorned pumpkin-shaped carriage and a Disney-themed castle backdrop for photos. Among the spectators who witnessed and cheered on the couple’s joyous union included prominent individuals such as Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Governor of Bank Negara Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim and Laksamana Madya Tan Sri Ahmad Ramli Mohd Nor from Boustead Holdings Berhad.
