Singapore Dance Theatre returns to Malaysia for the 2018 Ballet Illuminations Ttour

Ballet fans rejoice, as this month will see a whole line-up of programmes dedicated to the dance performance, courtesy of the Singapore Dance Theatre, which has come to share its love and passion for the art with the Malaysian audience. An exquisite medley of classical and contemporary numbers by award-winning choreographers await guests, with three separate themes: Contemporary Weekend, Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party and Classical Weekend. The Contemporary Weekend will see performances of Rubies by George Balanchine (known as the father of American ballet for his neo-classical works, and his founding of the New York City Ballet), Sticks & Stones by Kinsun Chan (Canadian-american artist whose interests are in choreography, film and design) and Symphony in Three Movements by Nils Christe (world-renowned Dutch choreographer). The Classical Weekend will present all-time favourites such as Coppélia Act III, a timeless ballet about the story of a young couple in love and their battle between idealism and realism, the two-act legendary The Nutcracker and Kitri’s Wedding from Don Quixote.
