BLAZIN’ THROUGH

Emporio Armani shows us what happens when Italian flair merges with style from the land of the rising sun

Emporio Armani keeps it sleek ala Italian mafioso style, but with a touch of East meets West. The fashion house sent their models strutting down the runway in blazers and kimono jackets casually left unbuttoned or adorned with lapel accessories. Silhouettes took on a roomier route instead of the slim fit cuts that the modern man is subjected to these days. Nonetheless everything exuded a relaxed air, loose in a very elegantly manner. With the grounding colour of Armani’s signature dark blue, came splashes of vivid red lacquer hues that pulled together the other Japanese elements present, such as Japanese iconography, and the usage of silk and cuts that imitated the billowy forms of Japanese martial arts garb.
