Living Room
Your choice of furniture and its arrangement can make or break the living room. This may sound formidable but, according to Jennifer Soh who is the general manager of sales and marketing of Space Furniture Asia, it does not have to be, as long as we adhere to these basic rules. “First, less is more,” she points out. A coveted living room is rarely overrun with furniture, but has just the right amount of it for its size and purpose. “Modular pieces are recommended for larger spaces as they can be congured to create grandeur. Small-space owners, on the other hand, should invest in multifunctional ones.” This is mainly because function should never be compromised on. On quantity, Jennifer also proposes choosing one, or a maximum of two accent pieces as the focal point of the area. Designer pieces are especially favourable as they are both a conversation starter and a worthy investment. “And always layer. Layer with lights, rugs and other accessories to visually establish the living room and showcase your personality,” she adds.
