Justin Chai and Nee Yeoh go all out with a lavish celebration for their union

Introduced through mutual friends, financier Justin Chai and executive director of Niche Retailing Yeoh Pei Nee were attracted to each other at first sight and formed a strong bond over their shared love of God, food and travel. A year after embarking on a loving relationship, Justin proposed to Pei Nee at an onsen in Arthur’s Point, New Zealand. Soon after, the couple proceeded to lay down the groundwork to plan an epic series of wedding celebrations, making this year a memorable one for the couple. It started with a registration of marriage at The Majestic Hotel KL in March—attended only by close friends and family. But the party vibes were pumped up several notches when the couple invited their circle of friends to an Italian wedding held in the beautiful location of Positano. Starting with a welcome dinner at Treville Beach Club, the couple then exchanged their vows of love and devotion at Villa Treville the day after. The festivities continued weeks later in Kuala Lumpur, starting with the church ceremony at HTBB Church, where the bride’s father Dato’ Yeoh Seok Kian walked Pei Nee down the aisle. The fun and games carried on in a challenging gatecrashing ceremony, where the bridesmaids faced off with the groomsmen and had them do gruelling tasks like donning socks with wriggly worms, a cookout with insects as ingredients, and Justin having to read his vows upside down outside the bride’s chamber. The laughs provided a great warm-up to the tea ceremony, through which the couple proceeded on with respect and dignity. As it was in KL where the couple began their exciting relationship together, they saw it fit to celebrate their union in a big way with a lavish reception in The Majestic Hotel KL. Through the use of flowers by the skilled Ling sisters from Spring Cottage, the grand ballroom was transformed into a floral wonderland. Despite the traffic, the reception started on the dot. The doors opened, and Justin and Pei Nee walked in hand-in-hand to Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, smiling and waving to their 800 guests, before dinner is served.
