Inspired by his own experience at the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar resort in Oman, Foo recalls visiting Wadi Ghul with his wife, an abandoned village nestled deep in the Grand Canyon of Oman. Led by a local guide, who told them the story of Wadi Ghul’s abandonment after the villagers’ sole water source had dried up, the guide then revealed to Foo his vision of bringing life back into the village by investing money into a communal water pipeline.
“I was so moved after hearing his story, and even now, as I’m telling you this, it feels as though I’m back at Oman again,” says Foo. “And I never thought my trip would leave such a lasting impact on me. It was a lot of money spent, but how many can say that they got to experience that? It’s priceless! And these resonating experiences are what I wanted to introduce with T’roka, Holiday Tours and Travel’s latest venture in the luxury travel scene.”
