THE MyRumah property showcase is back for the second year running, offering the public a one-stop centre for property consultation.

Twelve leading exhibitors, including seven property developers, are taking part in the threeday event.

At the launch, New Straits Times Press (NSTP) chairman Tan Sri Ismail Omar said the property showcase was an opportunity for visitors to get first-hand information on the local property market.

“Together with our organising partners Andaman Group and Lepro System Bhd, we gathered about 20 experts from the industry to give talks on what the market is like now and for the future.

“It is a great opportunity for Malaysians to be updated on the real estate market today, particularly during this challenging time,” he said after launching the event in Balai Berita yesterday.

Most of the projects showcased are in the Klang Valley and priced around RM500,000.

NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid said the 2017 showcase was a continuation of last year’s event.

“I hope this event will continue to provide visitors and potential buyers the opportunity to view and possibly sign up for properties on sale here.

“We want to make this event a preferred venue for property consultation, where existing and potential house buyers can come to get expert advice from the speakers,” he said.

He added that the speakers would offer advice and tips on how to secure housing loans and better loan repayment management, as well as how to profit from property investment.

NSTP will also organise a property showcase in Kedah and Johor and Jalil said there were plans to expand the event to other states in the future.

Present were Berita Harian group editor Datuk Mahfar Ali and Harian Metro group editor Datuk Mustapa Omar.

Andaman Group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew said the event was unique as it featured talks and forums, besides the sales of properties.

“People may have the perception that it is a difficult time now to secure loans. That is why it is important for them to take advantage of the event to learn more from the experts.”
