Japan to forge closer ties

KUALA LUMPUR: Japan will organise a series of events to strengthen diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Japan.

This would include visits of politicians and business leaders this year, said Japanese ambassador Dr Makio Miyagawa at a dinner held here yesterday to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Japan.

Present at the event was New Straits Times Press chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid.
