MRT Corp awards RM2.74b contracts to 4 firms
KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded four contracts worth a whopping RM2.74 billion for various works related to the mass rapid transit’s (MRT) Sungai Buloh-SerdangPutrajaya Line (SSP Line).
The company said Work Package V205 worth RM858.18 million to build viaduct guideway and other associated works from Kampung Muhibbah to Serdang Raya was awarded to Trans Resources Corp Sdn Bhd.
It awarded Gadang Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd Work Package V206 worth RM952.09 million for the construction and completion of the viaduct guideway and other associated works from Serdang Raya to Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Acre Works Sdn Bhd has secured Work Package V209 to build viaduct guideway and other associated works from Persiaran Alpinia to Persiaran Apec. The job is worth RM715.99 million.
Acre Works also involves in building the MRT Sungai BulohKajang Line, handling the advance work package for the design and build contract for the new JKR Wilayah Persekutuan Workshop, as well as the supply and delivery of segmental box girders.
“The awards for the three work packages, which complete the tenders for all 10 viaduct work packages for the SSP Line, were made following a One-Stop Procurement I (OSPC I) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak,” said MRT Corp in statement.
A OSPC II meeting for work packages less than RM300 million each and chaired by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani had also been held.
Subsequently, the RM212.3 million S201 package to build elevated stations and other works at Damansara Damai, Sri Damansara West and Sri Damansara East was awarded to Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd.
MRT Corp chief executive officer Datuk Shahril Mokhtar said all four recipients were selected based on best evaluated tenders.
The tenders were evaluated based on technical, commercial, legal, financial and industrial collaboration programme plans.
