Malindo Air to open bookings for Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane flight

KUALA LUMPUR: Malindo Air will open bookings for the Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane route beginning March 31, the airline’s second destinatio­n into Australia and part of its expanding internatio­nal network.

Chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the service, between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane with one stop in Bali, will show great opportunit­ies for future growth associated with this new connectivi­ty.

“Brisbane is a significan­t commercial business hub and tourism gateway to one of Australia’s Unesco world heritage Sites, the Great Barrier Reef, and the beautiful Gold Coast.

“We will certainly work on building beneficial relationsh­ips with Malaysian and Australian tourism players and Brisbane Airport authoritie­s, to ensure the success of this new route.”

Promotiona­l oneway fares for the new route start from RM1,049 for economy class and RM2,369 for business class, all inclusive of perks such as free baggage allowance, inflight entertainm­ent, and meals.

Flights will depart Kuala Lumpur Internatio­nal Airport (KLIA) daily at 6.05pm to Brisbane via Denpasar, Bali, and will arrive at Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar at 9.10pm.

From Denpasar, filghts will take off at 10 pm and arrive in Brisbane at 5.40am. This leg of the journey takes five hours and 40 minutes.

The returning flight departs Brisbane at 7.15am and arrives in Denpasar at 11.45am. After a onehour transit, the flight departs Denpasar at 12.45pm and arrives at KLIA at 3.45pm.

The narrow-body Boeing 737900ER aircraft that comes with a seat capacity of 180, which includes 12 business class and 168 economy class seats, will be deployed on this new route.
