MEDIA Prima Radio Networks have three new radio announcers: Muaz and Rea for Kool FM, and Zetty for Hot FM. The trio were introduced during a recent media event held at Sime Darby Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

“The strengthening of the lineup for both stations is part of our mission in keeping with the networks’ vision and branding, with a focus on music and entertainment content relevant to today’s lifestyle,” said MPRNgroupgeneralmanagerAnidaMohd Tahrim.

Rea, whose full name is Tengku Nor Suriya Tengku Mohamad, was with Hot FM based in Terengganu for the last two years, before joining Kool FM in Petaling Jaya.

“I’m ready to take on new challenges. Since Hot FM, I’ve been more inclined towards songs from the 1990s. Kool FM song selection is definitely my cup of tea, and I can see my career progressing here,” says the 27-year-old.

STORIES FROM ARTISTES

Rea hosts Muzik Kool Tanpa Henti, which airs Mondays to Fridays between 10am and 3pm. “It features a balanced song selection with hits from the 1980s to the 1990s, as well as the occasional current hit. “I also share info on artistes which listeners might not know,” she says.

Rea has a segment called Preview Kool too. “It has interviews with veteran artistes, who share interesting stories from their musical journey,” says the self-proclaimed workaholic. The bubbly announcer hopes to attract more listeners to share their own stories on air as well.

FUN RADIO

Similarly, Zetty Nabila Muhamad Ghazali, was also formerly with Hot FM.

She’d been part of the Hot FM Honda Jazz Zoomerz since 2012. In the past two years, Zetty was also a part-time presenter with the station. “I’ve been working with the radio industry for quite some time now and I am very grateful for that. My past experience will help with my current work,” says the 26-year-old.

Zetty is in charge of Hot FM’s Muzik Hot, which airs Mondays to Fridays between 10am and 4pm.

“I hope to lure the community back to radio. With various online music platforms nowadays, people tend to forget the fun that radio can bring,” she says, before adding, “I also have a two-hourlong weekend show every Saturday at 8pm called Selebriti Hot. I’ll be sharing the latest entertainment gossip in the local and international scene.”

The hardworking announcer, who has been part of MPRN family for four years, now also emcees for the station’s events, writes promo scripts, produces public service ad videos and vlogs twice a week.

GLORY DAYS AGAIN

Zetty, who is a firm believer in the motto that every day is a brand new day, hopes to meet her bosses’ and seniors’ expectation to bring fresh content that is aligned with the demands of radio listeners today.

She adds: “It’s time to bring back the glorious radio days. It is more than just music on radio!”

Muaz, a former announcer with a local radio station, began his career in broadcasting in 2008. He has regularly hosted various TV shows in the past as well.

At Kool FM, Muaz is paired with Liza (radio deejay Khairu Norliza Khairudin) on Petang Kool, which airs Mondays to Fridays

between 3pm and 7pm.

CHALLENGES A MOTIVATION “I hope I’ll be able to add value to the station besides developing my skills further with this new chapter in my career,” says the 32-year-old whose full name — Muazanazzudin Mohamed — is somewhat tongue-twisting.

“Every j ob has its own challenges. I’m thankful that at Kool FM, I’ve been given the responsibility to work as a team with Liza. Besides providing music, we share entertainment news as reported by the local Press and news bits that go viral on social media in the segment called Dari Kaca Mata Reporter,” he adds.

Muaz, who loves learning new things, is ever the eager beaver. “New challenges are a motivation for me to be more excited about my work,” says Muaz, who adds, “past experiences may open our eyes to the world, but facing up to new challenges is the real test that will make us more mature.”

In the meantime, Hot FM is promoting the Fantastic 4 campaign which fields four young male singers: Aiman Tino, Sufian Suhaimi, Tajul Arif and Khai Bahar.

They will take turns as guest radio deejays on Hot FM over two weeks, leading up to the Konsert Fantastik 4 Hot FM @ Karnival Jom Heboh scheduled for March 25 at Bukit Jalil in KL.

People tend to forget the fun that radio can bring.
