Da-Bangg The Tour – Live In Malaysia will mark ac­tor’s first full-fledged live per­for­mance, writes TAHIR ALHAMZAH

IN­DIAN su­per­star Sal­man Khan, one of Bollywood’s three “kings” (the other two be­ing Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan), is com­ing here to per­form at a con­cert on April 14 at the Mines In­ter­na­tional Ex­hi­bi­tion & Con­ven­tion Cen­tre in Kuala Lumpur.

Ti­tled “Da-Bangg The Tour – Live In Malaysia”, the con­cert, brought by GHC So­lu­tions Sdn Bhd, is ex­pected to at­tract some 8,000 peo­ple.

“This will mark Sal­man’s first full-fledged live per­for­mance in this coun­try, and his first after more than a decade,” said GHC So­lu­tions chair­man Datuk Geethan­jali G. at the Ritz-Carl­ton re­cently.

Shar­ing the stage with the hero of last year’s block­buster Sul­tan is Kol­ly­wood’s chore­og­ra­pher and dancer Prabhu Deva, who will add more ap­peal to fans of In­dian movies.

Join­ing the stars are In­dian Alis­ters, such as Devi hero­ine Ta­man­naah, No En­try’s lead­ing ac­tress Bi­pasha Basu, rap­per Bad­shaah, TV host Man­ish Paul, and Jai Ho’s fe­male lead, Daisy Shah.

The or­gan­iser aims to make this event the big­gest ever, in terms of at­ten­dees and pro­duc­tion value.

“We’re bring­ing the best of both worlds to­gether in one con­cert.

“We’re hope­ful that it will at­tract tourists to Malaysia to wit­ness this spec­tac­u­lar per­for­mance,” said GHC So­lu­tions chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Datuk Jas­beer Singh.

He said the most ex­pen­sive ticket was priced at RM2,222.

“And most of them have been snapped up, not only by lo­cal fans, but also those from In­done­sia, Sin­ga­pore, Bangladesh and Nepal. Only 20 seats are left for the most ex­pen­sive ticket.

“Some 50 tick­ets were bought by an In­done­sian.”

Da-Bangg The Tour will kick off in Malaysia, be­fore it makes its way to Hong Kong, Auck­land, Syd­ney and fi­nally Mel­bourne as its last stop.

The con­cert in­volves a 100strong en­tourage com­pris­ing dancers and mu­si­cians from the In­dian sub­con­ti­nent. They will also be joined by dancers and mu­si­cians from Malaysia.
