INDIAN superstar Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s three “kings” (the other two being Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan), is coming here to perform at a concert on April 14 at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Titled “Da-Bangg The Tour – Live In Malaysia”, the concert, brought by GHC Solutions Sdn Bhd, is expected to attract some 8,000 people.

“This will mark Salman’s first full-fledged live performance in this country, and his first after more than a decade,” said GHC Solutions chairman Datuk Geethanjali G. at the Ritz-Carlton recently.

Sharing the stage with the hero of last year’s blockbuster Sultan is Kollywood’s choreographer and dancer Prabhu Deva, who will add more appeal to fans of Indian movies.

Joining the stars are Indian Alisters, such as Devi heroine Tamannaah, No Entry’s leading actress Bipasha Basu, rapper Badshaah, TV host Manish Paul, and Jai Ho’s female lead, Daisy Shah.

The organiser aims to make this event the biggest ever, in terms of attendees and production value.

“We’re bringing the best of both worlds together in one concert.

“We’re hopeful that it will attract tourists to Malaysia to witness this spectacular performance,” said GHC Solutions chief executive officer Datuk Jasbeer Singh.

He said the most expensive ticket was priced at RM2,222.

“And most of them have been snapped up, not only by local fans, but also those from Indonesia, Singapore, Bangladesh and Nepal. Only 20 seats are left for the most expensive ticket.

“Some 50 tickets were bought by an Indonesian.”

Da-Bangg The Tour will kick off in Malaysia, before it makes its way to Hong Kong, Auckland, Sydney and finally Melbourne as its last stop.

The concert involves a 100strong entourage comprising dancers and musicians from the Indian subcontinent. They will also be joined by dancers and musicians from Malaysia.

Tickets are priced from RM111 to RM2,222 and are available via redtix.airasia.com. Tickets are also available at participating outlets Rock Corner and Victoria Music Station.
