State Health, Wel­fare, Women and Fam­ily Af­fairs ex­ec­u­tive coun­cil­lor Dr Daroyah Alwi spent about 15 min­utes with the miss­ing boys’ fam­i­lies, who have been camped at the search-and-res­cue oper­a­tions cen­tre since Fri­day night.

Dr Daroyah con­veyed the con­do­lences from Men­teri Be­sar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and the state gov­ern­ment to the fam­i­lies of the boys who drowned and hoped that the re­main­ing two would be found soon.

“We will help the fam­i­lies, but at the mo­ment, we have not de­ter­mined how to do it.

“I will dis­cuss with the men­teri be­sar about this,” Dr Daroyah said.

Dr Daroyah and Lee also went to the scene where Muham­mad Shahir Az­man was res­cued. He had held on to a rub­ber hose near the bridge and screamed for help. A passerby res­cued him.

Dr Daroyah ad­vised par­ents to en­sure that they knew the where­abouts of their chil­dren dur­ing this week-long school hol­i­days to pre­vent un­to­ward in­ci­dents.
