‘VIC­TIM WAS TEX­TING’

Mo­tor­cy­clist was not wear­ing a hel­met, say cops

ES­THER LANDAU KUALA LUMPUR was look­ing at his phone while rid­ing the mo­tor­cy­cle, which be­longed to his friend. He was dis­tracted by his phone, which caused him to lose con­trol of his ma­chine.

“He wasn’t wear­ing his hel­met. He had se­ri­ous head in­juries and died at the scene.”

It was re­ported that the 19year-old vic­tim had lost con­trol of his mo­tor­cy­cle and skid­ded to the left side of the road in the 11.15pm in­ci­dent.

The case is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated un­der Sec­tion 41(1) of the Road Trans­port Act 1987 for caus­ing death by reck­less or dan­ger­ous driv­ing.
