14 hours of agony

-

GEORGE TOWN: A man who hoped to boost his libido by putting a ring on his penis, ended up in pain.

He had to endure more than 14 hours of agony as he was unable to remove the metal ring since Saturday night.

It was eventually removed by a team from the Jalan Perak Fire and Rescue Department that was called in to help by Penang Hospital.

The department’s operations chief, Mohd Asrul Naim Abidin, said the 20-year-old victim was in a stable condition.

Asrul said the man had earlier used the ring in an attempt to increase his sexual endurance.

He added that it became stuck and the victim’s organ started to swell, causing intense pain. He tried removing it using soap and oil, but failed.

Asrul said the victim went to the hospital the next day to seek help, but medical personnel there could not remove the it, prompting them to call the Fire and Rescue Department.

Once the department’s personnel arrived, it took them 10 minutes using a pair of pliers to break the ring.
