-

MALACCA: Two agricultural product dealers, including a state DAP committee member, were remanded for three days for a dubious land deal in Kelantan five years ago.

Magistrate Analia Kamaruddin issued the order yesterday.

The two friends, aged 29 and 54, appeared in court at 8.30am.

The two were remanded to assist in the probe under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property.

A farmer had claimed that he was cheated of some RM976,300 by the duo, involving a 202ha plot in a forest reserve in Kelantan, after being convinced by DAP Ayer Keroh assemblyman Khoo Poay Tiong.

However, on March 14, the two friends told a press conference that they denied any wrongdoing while exonerating Khoo.
