AFTER three weeks in 106 cinemas nationwide and in Singapore, action movie J-Revolusi has, to date, raked in RM5.7 million in sales, with more than 430,000 viewers.
Marini Ramlan, the general manager of its distributor, Primeworks Distribution Sdn Bhd, said: “With the start of the school holidays, we hope more Malaysians will go to the cinemas to watch this action-packed film, which showcases the spectacular Royal Malaysia Police’s elite squad, the Special Action Unit (UTK).
“Apart from the heart-pumping fighting scenes, J-Revolusi is packed with family values.”
The movie, she said, had been well received by Singaporeans since it opened in the Lion City on March 10.
Entering week two of its screening there, Rex Cinemas of Singapore has decided to screen it at its McKenzie Road branch to meet the high demand.
Produced by Grand Brilliance and Infinitus Productions, J-Revolusi, which stars Zul Ariffin, Nur Fazura, Omar Abdullah, Azad Jazmin, Izara Aishah and Farid Kamil, premiered in Malaysian cinemas on March 2.
Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau is the adviser for the actionpacked movie, which tells the story of Jay Zulkarnain, a UTK man who is framed for his involvement in a terrorist plot headed by criminal Andra, and has to fight to clear his name.
