‘J-REVO­LUSI’ RAKES IN RM5.7M IN 3 WEEKS

Ac­tion movie also well re­ceived in Sin­ga­pore, DEN­NIS CHUA writes

AF­TER three weeks in 106 cin­e­mas na­tion­wide and in Sin­ga­pore, ac­tion movie J-Revo­lusi has, to date, raked in RM5.7 mil­lion in sales, with more than 430,000 view­ers.

Marini Ram­lan, the gen­eral man­ager of its distrib­u­tor, Prime­works Dis­tri­bu­tion Sdn Bhd, said: “With the start of the school hol­i­days, we hope more Malaysians will go to the cin­e­mas to watch this ac­tion-packed film, which show­cases the spec­tac­u­lar Royal Malaysia Po­lice’s elite squad, the Spe­cial Ac­tion Unit (UTK).

“Apart from the heart-pump­ing fight­ing scenes, J-Revo­lusi is packed with fam­ily val­ues.”

The movie, she said, had been well re­ceived by Sin­ga­pore­ans since it opened in the Lion City on March 10.

En­ter­ing week two of its screen­ing there, Rex Cin­e­mas of Sin­ga­pore has de­cided to screen it at its McKen­zie Road branch to meet the high de­mand.

Pro­duced by Grand Bril­liance and In­fini­tus Pro­duc­tions, J-Revo­lusi, which stars Zul Arif­fin, Nur Fazura, Omar Ab­dul­lah, Azad Jazmin, Izara Aishah and Farid Kamil, pre­miered in Malaysian cin­e­mas on March 2.

Hong Kong su­per­star Andy Lau is the ad­viser for the ac­tion­packed movie, which tells the story of Jay Zulkarnain, a UTK man who is framed for his in­volve­ment in a ter­ror­ist plot headed by crim­i­nal An­dra, and has to fight to clear his name.
