Spon­sor­ship tar­get will be met, says Khairy

SPORTS Min­is­ter Khairy Ja­malud­din is op­ti­mistic the RM80mil spon­sor­ship tar­get will be met be­fore Sea Games and Para Asean com­mence in Au­gust and Septem­ber.

“We have reached 96 per cent in terms of ser­vices and 66 per cent in re­gards to mon­e­tary spon­sor­ship,” Khairy said in Pu­tra­jaya yes­ter­day.

The to­tal amount of spon­sor­ship re­ceived so far is RM68mil fol­low­ing the sign­ing of a mem­o­ran­dum of un­der­stand­ing be­tween the Malaysian Sea Games Or­gan­is­ing Com­mit­tee (MASOC) and SCGM Ber­had yes­ter­day.

“They have asked us not to dis­close (the amount of spon­sor­ship) but they qual­ify in the silver cat­e­gory.”

The Jo­hor-based com­pany is Malaysia’s lead­ing ther­mos-vac­uum form plas­tic pack­ag­ing man­u­fac­turer which pro­vides end-toend pro­duc­tion from ex­tru­sion to pack­ag­ing and de­liv­ery to its cus­tomers in Malaysia and over­seas. Farah Azharie
