Sponsorship target will be met, says Khairy

SPORTS Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is optimistic the RM80mil sponsorship target will be met before Sea Games and Para Asean commence in August and September.

“We have reached 96 per cent in terms of services and 66 per cent in regards to monetary sponsorship,” Khairy said in Putrajaya yesterday.

The total amount of sponsorship received so far is RM68mil following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Malaysian Sea Games Organising Committee (MASOC) and SCGM Berhad yesterday.

“They have asked us not to disclose (the amount of sponsorship) but they qualify in the silver category.”
