Raja Zarith Sofiah leads list of award recipients
Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah and two other dignitaries lead the list of award recipients in conjunction with Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s 59th birthday.
She will be awarded the “Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor First Class Dato’ Sri Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SMIJ)” title during the investiture at Istana Besar of Johor here today.
The two other dignitaries who will be conferred the “Datuk” title will be Johor state secretary Azmi Rohani and Sultan Ibrahim’s private jet chief pilot Major Abu Samah Safie.
They will be awarded the “Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor Second Class (Commander) Dato’ Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (DMIJ)”.
Raja Di-Hilir Perak Datuk Seri Raja Iskandar Dzulkurnain Sultan Idris Shah will be accorded the “Most Esteemed Order of the Royal Family Second Class (DK II)”.
Among 31 recipients of the “Most Exalted Order of Sultan Ibrahim Johor Third Class (Companion) Setia Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (SIJ)” award are Johor police chief Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Wan Mohd, Sultan Ibrahim’s Police Royal Escort Superintendent R. Sugumaran, Johor Land and Mines director Mohd Halim Hasbullah, Johor Baru mayor A. Rahim Nin, Johor Corporation president and chief executive Datuk Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim, Johor Council of the Royal Court Datuk Perdana Dalam Datuk Mohamed Perang Musa and a member of the public Emmyza Ismail from Bandar Baru Permas Jaya.
Also in the list are 10 Johor district officers from Johor Baru, Muar, Batu Pahat, Segamat, Kluang, Kota Tinggi, Pontian, Mersing, Tangkak and Kulai.
The list continues with the Sultan Ibrahim Medal First Class (PSI I) with Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim leading the list of recipi e n t s followed by his siblings, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim.
Also in the list are Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Johor Council of the Royal Court president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli.
Among the recipients of 50 names listed for the “Sultan Ibrahim Medal Second Class (PS II)” are Johor Immigration director Datuk Rohaizi Bahari, Johor Customs director Jaafar Md Jawi, Johor Fire and Rescue Department director Othman Abdullah and Johor Archive Department director T. Gowri.
Johor Council of the Royal Court president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli had previously said that the investiture was last held two years ago during Sultan Ibrahim’s coronation ceremony.
