Out­stand­ing in­di­vid­u­als and com­pa­nies from across the coun­try were hon­oured at the Malaysia Busines Awards 2017 by the Kuala Lumpur Malay Cham­ber of Com­merce (KLMCC) in a pres­ti­gious event held at Shangri-La Ho­tel, Kuala Lumpur on the 9th of March 2017.

Act­ing Pres­i­dent of Kuala Lumpur Malay Cham­ber of Com­merce, Mr Don Nazwim Don Na­jib, who ad­dressed the crowd dur­ing his open­ing speech, de­scribed the busi­ness com­mu­nity as an in­te­gral part of the na­tional eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment process. He also cred­ited them for be­ing able to step up and over­come the strug­gle in the cur­rent eco­nomic cli­mate.

He said that KLMCC is proud to cel­e­brate the award winners for their re­mark­able achieve­ments in their busi­nesses de­spite the chal­leng­ing times.

“These award winners how­ever man­aged to prove them­selves to us and that they are the real winners for be­ing able to beat the odds and still stand out in the busi­ness world.”

“They are ex­cel­lent ex­am­ples that should in­spire our lo­cal busi­nesses to soar to greater heights and help pro­mote Malaysia to the world. We see the Malaysia Busi­ness Awards 2017 as a great op­por­tu­nity to show our ap­pre­ci­a­tion to those who have demon­strated works of con­sid­er­able breadth and im­pact, as well as ex­em­plary ef­forts in push­ing this na­tion forward.” he added.

Wanita UMNO chief, Tan Sri Shahrizat Ab­dul Jalil was the guest of hon­our at the event. This is the 7th edition of the Malaysia Busi­ness Awards hosted by KLMCC, which saw 21 awards re­cip­i­ents hon­oured in var­i­ous cat­e­gories.

Dato’ Seri Ibrahim Hj. Ah­mad Badawi, the Ex­ec­u­tive Chair­man of Dewina Hold­ings Sdn. Bhd was pre­sented with the main award of the night, the “MBA Life­time Achieve­ment Award 2017” while Tan Sri Dato' Seri Utama Ar­shad Ayub was hon­oured for his splen­did ser­vices to the busi­ness com­mu­nity with the “MBA Legacy Award 2017”.

Jakel Trad­ing Sdn. Bhd. (Jakel) re­ceived the In­dus­try Ex­cel­lence Award for the retail cat­e­gory, while Jakel Group Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Datuk Mo­hamed Faroz Mo­hamed

Jakel was hon­oured with the En­tre­pre­neur of the Year Award. The Ex­cel­lence Award for Green Tech­nol­ogy cat­e­gory was awarded to Con­cord Green En­ergy Sdn. Bhd. while the Ekuiti Na­sional Ber­had (EKUINAS) re­ceived the award for Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity (CSR).

Co­rum Watches, Bent­ley Malaysia, Al­lianz Malaysia and The Peak mag­a­zine are the main spon­sors for this dis­tin­guished event. It was hosted by Dato’ Ma­hadzir Dato’ Lok­man and guests were en­ter­tained by live per­for­mances on stage.
