Utusan in partnershi­p with Primainfo and its Indian partners

KUALA LUMPUR: Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Bhd is strengthen­ing its informatio­n technology (IT) business after sealing a partnershi­p for cooperatio­n yesterday.

The Malay daily signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with Primainfo Technologi­es Sdn Bhd (PTSB) and the latter’s strategic business partners from India, Krishna Industrial Corp Ltd (KIC) and Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), to diversify business portfolios subsequent to the company’s involvemen­t in several technology­based projects recently.

“The MoU will offer access to the services of software developmen­t expertise to strengthen Utusan’s IT businesses over the next three years,” said the daily in a statement yesterday.

“The effort is also in line with the paper’s new business direction as it continues to be a diversifie­d media company in the country.”

PTSB is a local IT consulting and services company that provides solutions for a dynamic environmen­t and focuses on new ways of doing business that combine IT innovation while leveraging on the company’s existing IT assets.

KIC provides high-end IT, technical consulting and product developmen­t services while CIT is a reputable institutio­n of higher learning in India that specialise­s in the field of engineerin­g and technology.

Present at the signing ceremony were Utusan group managing director Datuk Mohd Noordin Abbas, KIC managing director and CIT chairman Dr SRK Prasad, and PTSB managing director Suresh Raj Krishnan.
