Pasir Gudang Pas supports move to sever ties with DAP
MASAI: A group of Pas members held a peaceful demonstration here yesterday to show support for the party’s decision to sever ties with DAP.
More than 20 Pasir Gudang Pas divisional members held up banners and placards to express support for party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s decision to cut ties with DAP.
A spokesman for the group, Hairul Isa, 29, said Pas members would not extend any more assistance to DAP and its political allies.
“We helped DAP during the last general election and we had more members than the combined memberships of DAP and PKR.
“There will be no more help to DAP and we will only follow our president’s decision,” he said in front of Masjid Al-Muhajirin, where the demonstration was held.
This was the second demonstration in Johor after a similar event was organised by Pas members in the Gelang Patah division on March 10.
Hairul said the most important message they wanted to convey was their support for the stand taken by the party president.
He warned politicians from other parties that they should not be rude to the Sultan of Johor and that they should not condemn the Bangsa Johor concept.
“We are sad because they try to fool Muslims to support a party which does not respect Islam.”
Hairul said Pas members were upset with DAP, PKR, Parti Amanah Negara and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia which had kept on bashing Pas and ridiculing Hadi.
